Student Legal and Mediation Services is proud to welcome one of the newest members of our staff, Margaret Mitschke. Margaret hails from Trinity, Texas and is the eldest of four sisters. She has been attending Sam Houston State for a year now, and is a triple-major in Accounting, Finance, and Banking. She will be a senior next year.
Margaret has a history of teachers in her family. Both her mother and her grandparents have both had careers in education, and Margaret herself wants to help other students. Aside from her job at SLMS, she tutors her fellow students in the College of Business and also volunteers as a tutor at her sisters’ high school. She does not yet know what kind of career path she wants to take, but she’s exploring her options. Her end goal is either to become an Accounting professor or to work at the Education Resource Center as a Financial Adviser.
The reason Margaret joined SLMS is her belief that knowledge is power, and she wants to advocate to other students that they can be in control of their lives by knowing their legal options and taking charge of their legal situations.
When she’s not dedicating her time to the pursuit of knowledge and furthering her job experience, Margaret likes listening to Sam Smith, Chris Young, and Gotye. She also enjoys watching Game of Thrones, Boston Legal, Criminal Minds, and Blacklist. Her favorite movies are Troy, The Theory of Everything, and Les Miserables.
Margaret is dedicated to ensuring that her fellow SHSU students are receiving the legal help they deserve, contributing to the SLMS’ commitment to providing Bearkats quality legal services.
For any students seeking information on their legal rights, please contact Student Legal and Mediation Services by phone at (936) 294-1717, email at email@example.com, or visit us in the LSC Room #330.
